JOHOR BAHRUÂ – A drive home from brother’s vaccination appointment ended in tragedy. The driver died after falling over from the East Dispersion Ring Highway (EDL) elevated road heading to Pandan today. The incident happened at 11.20 am. A 21-year-old man was found dead on site while his 19-year-old brother suffered minor injuries.
According to Johor Bahru Selatan District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat, the accident is due to the motorcycle skidding and hitting a concrete wall at Kilometer 4 of the EDL Highway.
In addition, the victim was on his way home in Pasir Gudang after his brother’s COVID-19 vaccination appointment
“The victim slipped and fell into the underpass of the EDL Highway, at the height of about 20 feet. He suffered severe head injuries and was confirmed dead on site.
“Meanwhile, his brother only suffered minor injuries to his fingers,” he reported today.
Raub said the victim’s body is now at Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) for autopsy while his brother received outpatient treatment at the same hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
