KOTA BAHRU – A woman was left seriously injured after her 14-year-old son plunged a knife into her chest at her house near Bukit Yong, Pasir Puteh on Tuesday (May 25).
According to Kelantan Criminal Investigations Department chief Datuk Mohd Nor Yazhid Idris, the 41-year-old victim was asleep in the same room as her son when she felt a sharp pain in her chest at about 11.45pm.
After realising that a knife was stuck to her chest, she immediately called her husband who was sleeping in the living room.
“She later lost consciousness after pulling the knife out before she was rushed to the Tengku Anis Hospital in Pasir Puteh by her husband,” he said in a statement.
Nor Yazhid added that the victim is currently being warded at the Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM) due to blood loss, where a doctor confirmed that her left lung had been punctured.
He also said that the suspect was suffering from a fever for the past two days, where he was monitored by the victim.
“Our initial investigations found that the victim had been stabbed by the suspect, who was also the third child, using a knife taken from the kitchen.”
The suspect has since been remanded under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons.
