Newly appointed Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said the implementation will involve vulnerable groups, namely patients with chronic illnesses and elderly people who are at a higher risk of getting infected.

He also added that the existing vaccine supply is sufficient to meet the needs of the population in the government’s efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Yesterday (Dec 13), a total of 12,757 cases were reported within just one week, which was double the figure of the previous week.

Various factors contributing to the spike include the lack of mask-wearing in public, weather conditions, movement patterns, and the current school holiday season.

Meanwhile, Dr. Dzulkefly said the Cabinet has also been briefed about the current situation of Covid-19 infections in Malaysia.

Please wear a mask in public places and stay safe!
