# Johor Mixed Rice Stall Owner Uses Same Spoon To Taste Various Dishes, Sparks Outrage

##### Food hygiene is something very important as failing to do so can lead to people falling ill, be it mildly or severely.

A mixed rice stall owner in Kluang, Johor, was on the receiving end of brickbats from netizens after he was caught on tape using a singular spoon to have a 'taste test' of several dishes.

## Mixed rice stall owner uses same spoon to taste dishes

In the shocking [1 minute 20 seconds clip](https://www.facebook.com/100084232659779/videos/1071086537791776/?idorvanity=1567216287375489&rdid=Oc06BZ6XZGFmpSj1) shared to a Facebook group on Wednesday (Nov 6), it showed the owner using a spoon to have a sample of one of the dishes displayed at his stall.

After having a taste of the first dish, he is seen dipping the *same* spoon into another dish without using a new spoon to do so.

##### To make matters worse, he repeats the same action on at least five other dishes.

Needless to say, the clip, which has been viewed over 320,000 times at the time of writing, triggered a wave of backlash from netizens, who condemned the owner for disregarding food safety, with some even calling for a boycott.

## Owner apologises for unhygienic practices

Not long after the clip went viral, the owner took to his [personal Facebook account](https://www.facebook.com/cheelien.tan/posts/pfbid02o8SwCaBsXVAF7KAxRwb6ouoi73WSFXhwy77pkKXPEV18S6wZNy8PQ38aNJC13XGGl) to issue an apology over the incident.

In the post, he acknowledged that what he did was wrong and begged for forgiveness from customers.

He added that he will reflect on his mistakes and be more stringent in practicing food hygiene in the future.

In the comment section, reactions towards his apology were mixed.

Some praised him for being brave to admit his wrongs and voiced support for his business.

On the other hand, some were unconvinced, with one saying that the damage had already been done and that incidents like this couldn't be resolved with an apology.
