Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Steven Sim Chee Keong has been hospitalised after working continuously for several weeks.
He shared the news on his social media together with a photo of himself lying on a hospital bed.
Admitted on fourth day of Chinese New Year
In his post, Steven Sim said he was admitted to hospital on the fourth day of Chinese New Year.
After being busy with work for several weeks, I had to be hospitalised on the fourth day of Chinese New Year. The doctor advised me to take a short rest,” he wrote.
He did not reveal the specific cause of his condition.
Vows to return stronger
Despite the setback, Steven Sim assured the public that he would return to his duties soon.
“I will be back soon, and stronger. We move forward,” he said.
He also wrote “否极泰来”, which means after hardship comes blessing, as a message of encouragement to himself and those who expressed concern.
