Supporters of a politician would often celebrate a win at the polls by waving banners or attending a post-victory gathering.
However, one stall owner in Kedah decided to give it a unique twist by introducing a menu called ‘Menu Sanusi’ to celebrate Kedah MB Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor’s victory at the recent state election.
M’sian stall owner reveals ‘Menu Sanusi’
Speaking to Sinar Harian, the owner, Nur Ezzeanni Abdullah, said she had been selling food items for just RM1 since the Covid-19 pandemic.
Following Sanusi’s resounding victory at the state election, her husband Azizan Mahmud suggested that she name the menu as ‘Menu Sanusi’ to commemorate his win.
Aside from the unusual name, there’s also a wide variety of food for customers to choose from for just RM1.
“Among the RM1-priced foods are curry noodles, laksa, kuey teow, spiced fried chicken, soy sauce chicken, rosemary chicken, rendang chicken, and so on.
“So when people think of ‘Menu Sanusi’, they will remember that cheap food is sold in Kedah,” she said.
Received overwhelming support
Nur Ezzeanni, who has operated the stall for 17 years and is assisted by 12 employees, said business has been very brisk thanks to overwhelming support from the public.
“Alhamdulillah, the response from the public to the RM1 menu has been very positive, where we often have to cook and add new dishes frequently.”
She also added that she doesn’t see selling her food at RM1 as an economic loss, but rather as a form of charity to the local residents.
Those who are interested can pay a visit to her stall located at Anjung Selera Rasa Anakku in Bukit Payung, Pokok Sena from 6am to 3pm every Sunday to Thursday.
