However, they have found a way to overcome the challenges by moving their signature event, the Malaysian Accounting Students Convention (MASC) online.

University of Malaya Accounting Club (UMAC) is a 5-star student club in University of Malaya(UM) under the Faculty of Business and Accountancy. It aims to achieve recognition, both locally and internationally, on its ability to produce innovative, resourceful and highly competent accountants who possess excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and passion for excelling and succeeding in their careers.

What is MASC?
MASC is one of the largest annual gatherings for accounting and accounting-related undergraduates from both public and private universities across Malaysia.
MASC aims to begin a thoughtful, productive, and inspiring dialogue among delegates as well as the convention speakers. With this event, you will get to meet the Accounting field’s intellectuals and hear from them about the latest, crucial and close-to-industries issues.
Coming back stronger in 2021
MASC 2021 is going to be held virtually from 3rd to 6th of March 2021 via Zoom for only RM10 per person!
The theme of MASC 2021 is Trailblazers! What does it mean?
It carries the meaning of someone capable of lighting up the path ahead despite the dark uncertainties of the future (or better still, NOW!). With this, MASC 2021 will equip participants with the skill sets needed to overcome any uncertainties and remain undisruptable through any disruption.
Besides a unique theme, this year’s MASC comes back with a brand new concept! The overall winners for MASC 2021 will be decided by investment-based business simulation games. Isn’t that exciting?!
Not your ordinary convention!
Besides ordinary activities in a convention like workshops, career networking booth, interactive sessions and forum, MASC has prepared a few highlighted activities. For example:
1) The PRAETEXO Secret
A mystery was hidden and left unsolved.
What happened back then?
Who caused the mystery and how did it happen?
“The PRAETEXO Secret” challenges the participant’s team spirit and communication skills to unfold the mystery by challenging different station games.
2) Spectre Protocol
The “Spectres” are on a mission! Hunt them before they hunt you down!
Spectre Protocol will be a brand new social deduction game to strengthen bonds between participants while enhancing their deductive skills!
3) Hephaestus Show
What would you do to shine the forgotten non-essential products in this pandemic when you are given a chance to modify them?
“Hephaestus Show” provides a platform to show your creativity in innovating new products and skills to market the products.
4) The Dinero Charisma
Infectious disease is invading the nation!
Businesses face different challenges in a pandemic situation. In this activity, participants are required to apply their soft skills and critical thinking to solve business challenges.
5) Embrace You, Embrace Us
Happiness unshared can scarcely be called happiness, it has no taste.
Embrace your friends before we bid goodbye.
“Embrace You, Embrace Us”, a sharing session between participants and organising committee to create more beautiful memories.

They will be having an “Unstoppable Dance Challenge”!

Slots are limited!
This year, they are only opening the slots to 150 accounting undergraduates and 70 accounting-related undergraduates (business & management, commerce and finance). The online registration is based on a first come, first served basis! Therefore, act quick! Don’t hesitate to register if you wish to join the events! The online registration period is only available from 11th of December 2020 until 25th of December 2020.
