Police have launched a murder investigation after a man and a woman were found dead with multiple stab wounds in Taman Nona, Alor Setar, on Wednesday night.
According to Sin Chew Daily, Yan district police chief Superintendent Mohd Hamizi Abdullah confirmed that police received a distress call at around 9.40pm reporting two individuals lying motionless in the residential area.
When officers arrived, they discovered a 30-year-old man lying on the road while a 28-year-old woman was found dead inside a Perodua Wira parked in front of a house.
Both victims bore multiple injuries consistent with stab wounds.

Investigation underway
Initial investigations revealed that the injuries were caused by a sharp weapon. We are looking into the victims’ relationship and their movements prior to the incident,” Mohamad Hamiz told reporters at the scene.
He added that no arrests have been made so far, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
The bodies have since been sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for post-mortem examinations as police continue gathering evidence.
