A man was caught red-handed rummaging through other passengers’ luggage during a flight, with the intent to steal, before being apprehended on the spot.
TikTok user @keigenstar shared a video capturing the incident, which took place on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore on July 28.
Searching through luggage
In the video, the user documented the man’s suspicious behavior, revealing how he tried to discreetly steal valuables from overhead compartments.

Unable to provide a reasonable explanation for his actions, the man was eventually escorted off the plane by security personnel.
Following the incident, passengers immediately checked their belongings, fearing their valuables might have been stolen.
The man reportedly attempted to excuse his actions by claiming he had taken the wrong bag, but both police and flight attendants dismissed his defense.
Claimed that he took the wrong bag
According to @keigenstar, the man’s odd behavior first raised suspicion during boarding.
“He kept changing seats and, at each new seat, he would open the overhead compartment, take out a bag, and rummage through it, searching for valuable items,” the TikTok user said.
The man reportedly tried to appear nonchalant after searching through the bags, placing them back carefully to avoid arousing suspicion before moving on to his next target.
Once alerted to the theft, flight attendants immediately informed the ground staff and security, who acted swiftly.

Upon investigation, the police found that the bag in the man’s possession did not belong to him. Despite his claim of taking the wrong bag, authorities were unconvinced, leading to his removal from the flight.
