Owing someone money is never a good thing as it can lead to heated arguments and sometimes even murder.
A Filipino man was stabbed several times following an argument over borrowed money his colleague failed to repay on time and later succumbed to his injuries.
Man stabbed multiple times over RM20 debt
According to a report by NST, the stabbing took place at a palm oil plantation in Ulu Lumagar, Bongawan, in Sabah around 8pm last Thursday (Jan 30).

Police investigation revealed the altercation was sparked when the victim confronted the suspect, a 26-year-old Indonesian man, about the RM20 his wife had given him to buy fish and bread the previous week.
In response, the suspect claimed the shop wasn’t open that day and didn’t return the money. Prior to the stabbing, he was also given RM30 by the victim’s wife in a separate occasion but didn’t repay it either.
Things got more heated when the suspect refused to acknowledge or return the money and it escalated in the form of the suspect grabbing a knife and stabbing the victim several times.

While the victim tried to fight back by attempting to grab a weapon from his house, he eventually collapsed due to blood loss and later died at the scene.
Arrested by police
Papar police chief Superintendent Kamaruddin Ambo Sakka said police were alerted of the stabbing when the plantation owner lodged a report.
A team from the district Criminal Investigation Division (CID), along with Sabah police headquarters’ D9 CID and Papar police station, nabbed the suspect in a raid at Kampung Ulu Lumagar, Bongawan, around noon on Friday (Jan 31).

Two Indonesian and Filipino men and two women, aged between 20 and 60, were also nabbed.
A wooden-handled knife believed to have been used in the attack was seized by police and all suspects and evidence were sent to the Papar police headquarters for further investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
