Food courts are places where people choose their meal from various stalls before digging into it and sharing the same space with other patrons. As such, maintaining public hygiene is vital.
Unfortunately, not everyone shares the same sentiment and disregard this altogether, causing much discomfort for others.
Man slammed for letting child stand on top of table
In a photo shared to the Facebook group Complaint Singapore yesterday (Jan 21), it showed a man and his daughter patronising a food court.
However, what rubbed many the wrong way was the fact that the young girl was standing on top of one of the tables while her shoes were still on.

As for her father, he didn’t seem bothered by his daughter’s actions and continued talking on the handphone. Although several staff could be seen in the background, no one stepped in to confront him.
The only person who spoke to the man was the OP himself, who wrote in the caption that the man simply ignored him when he warned him that letting his daughter stand on the table was “waiting for an accident to happen”.
‘Very poor parenting’
Needless to say, the man’s lack of consideration and poor hygiene caused an uproar among netizens, who slammed him for not being a good role model for his daughter.
‘These people have no etiquette, no manners, no brain…Table put food, you put your child’s dirty foot/shoes on the table…’

‘I’m not worried about what’s going to happen…I’m more concerned that she stepped on some s*** before standing on the table. Parents need to be disciplined.’

‘It’s not hygienic too. People will be eating and using the table there. So inconsiderate.’

WeirdKaya has reached out to the OP for further comment but has yet to receive a reply at the time of writing.
Last month, a woman sparked disgust after she changed her son’s diapers in broad daylight at a food court:
