A local woman in Sabah was left grievously injured by her Indonesian husband simply because he couldn’t stand the sight of her talking to another man.
According to The Star, the brutal attack occurred at her home in Kampung Mangkupa, which is located in the northern Kota Marudu district yesterday morning (June 25).
Slashed for speaking to male neighbour
Kota Marudu district police chief Supt Somiun Lomidin said the 9.30am incident was triggered by the suspect’s jealousy after he saw his wife talking to a male neighbour from their house compound.

Based on initial police investigations, it showed the suspect had instructed his wife not to speak to the neighbour but she denied doing so.
In a burst of anger, the suspect took a parang from the kitchen and slashed her 14 times with it, leaving her seriously injured.
The woman was later found lying in a pool of blood by her niece and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she’s now in a critical but stable condition.

A manhunt has since been launched to track down the suspect, who’s married to the woman for 19 years and has six children with her.
Investigations are being carried under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using dangerous weapons or means.
