Recent cases of tour and express bus overturning have made the local community more attentive to transportation issues.
In an unexpected turn of events, a 36-year-old man was detained by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) during a joint operation on Tour and Express Buses at the Gombak Enforcement Station earlier today (2 July).
According to Harian Metro, the man, who wishes to remain anonymous, was found to be driving a tour bus without a valid driving license or a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Vocational License.
The incident occurred during a routine inspection at the Gombak Toll Plaza. Authorities discovered that the man did not possess the necessary documentation to operate the tour bus, leading to his immediate detention.

According to the detained individual, the situation arose due to his brother’s sudden health issues.
He claimed that his brother, the regular driver of the tour bus, was unwell and had requested him to step in as a replacement to transport tourists to Kuantan, Pahang.
“However, I was detained because I did not have a valid driving license and PSV during the inspection upon arriving at the Gombak Toll Plaza,” he explained.
The man admitted to knowing that his actions constituted a serious offence but felt compelled to assist his ailing brother.
“Previously, I had never faced such a situation because I only drove buses in the capital and residential areas. After this, I will get a driving license and PSV to avoid any further actions,” he added.
The tour bus, which was under his temporary care, was thoroughly inspected and impounded for two hours starting at 7:30 am. The bus was later allowed to continue its journey after the man’s brother arrived to take over the driving duties.
