PENANG – A man was caught masturbating in front of a female clerk while buying condoms at a convenience store at Jalan Tun Sardon.
The footage, which was recorded by the shop’s closed-circuit television (CCTV), has since gone viral on social media.
Barat Daya District Police Chief, Superintendent Kamrul Rizal Jenal confirmed the incident.
He said police had received a report from a teenage girl who claimed to have witnessed the incident yesterday (August 11).
The suspect had entered the shop and started chatting about condoms before walking towards a rack displaying tissue papers.
“He then unzipped his pant and began to masturbate. He left the scene 30 minutes later.”
However, no arrests have been made at press time as police are still tracking down the suspect.
The suspect was wearing a helmet and face mask while at the convenience store.
Kamarul added that the case will be investigated under Section 377D of the Penal Code for gross indecency.
Those with information on the incident are encouraged to come forward and assist in the investigation.
