Chilis are known for its spiciness and are often used to add a kick to curries and other dishes. However, when used for nefarious purposes, it can lead to dire consequences, including death.
A father in Singapore is now facing up to five years in jail after he allegedly forced a chili tip right into his son’s mouth, eventually resulting in his demise.

Man allegedly forces chili into son’s mouth
According to CNA, the incident took place on Aug 2, 2022 at a flat along Anchorvale Road in Sengkang at around 1.30pm.
The charge sheet stated that the accused, 37-year-old Muhammad Amir Kader used his right and allegedly forced a chili tip straight into Muhammad Ariq Raziqin Muhammad Amir’s mouth while he was lying on the ground.
As a result of his act, Ariq’s airways became blocked and later choked to death. However, his age was not disclosed. The Straits Times also reported that the reason for Amir’s actions were not revealed too.

Faces up to 5 years in jail
When his case was being heard at the district court yesterday (June 14), the prosecution declined to pursue a gag order, citing that there was “no one else to protect”.
In response, Amir protested and said that he had other children. However, the prosecution assured that the absence of a gag order would not have a negative impact the other children’s wellbeing.

He was later charged with one count of of a rash act not amounting to culpable homicide and is set to return to court on July 12.
If found guilty, he could be jailed for up to five years, fined, or both.
