Malaysia will be the official host of the 2027 SEA Games, following a decision by the government to accept the offer from the Southeast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF).
The announcement was made today by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), highlighting the unanimous support from the Malaysian Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

This decision comes after Sarawak, Sabah, and Penang expressed their readiness to co-host the event with Kuala Lumpur, committing their resources to ensure the success of the games.

In a related note, the Cabinet also extended its congratulations to the Sarawak government and the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) XXI Organizing Committee for successfully wrapping up the recent SUKMA games on August 24th.
With the 2027 SEA Games on the horizon, Malaysia is gearing up for another exciting chapter in regional sports.
