Went to funeral of woman’s husband
In the post, Sofea wrote that she was often asked by fellow Muslims whether they could attend and pay their final respects at non-Muslim funeral ceremonies.
Sofea then went on to recount that during the 23rd day of Ramadan, she got a text message from a Chinese lady, who informed her that her husband had passed away.

“After receiving the news, I immediately went to visit her. She was deeply touched and happy by my presence.
“My intention was simply to visit and offer some support, even though we come from different races and cultures. But in the face of death, all those differences seem to become small.
“What remains in front of us is just a human being going through grief after losing a loved one,” she wrote.

‘We are all M’sians’
Sofea added that in moments of grief, the things that matter the most are one’s presence, kind words, and sincerity.
Even though we are different in race, culture, and religion, we are still there for each other as fellow human beings in difficult times.
“We no longer see a person as Malay, Chinese, or Indian, but one who’s grieving and in need of support. Because in the end, we are all Malaysians.”

Online praise
Sofea’s post has since touched the hearts of netizens, who praised her for showing kindness towards the Chinese woman and looking beyond racial and religious differences.
