Some people are lucky enough to have a domestic helper who becomes like family, someone who cooks, cleans, and even helps care for the kids with love and sincerity.
Unfortunately, not every story has that kind of happy ending.
One Malaysian woman recently shared her very different experience online where what started as a luggage check turned into a full-blown drama involving a missing necklace, hidden cash, and an unexpected meltdown with a makeup brush.
‘I didn’t steal anything’
According to the employer, she had already confronted her helper before the check and asked if she had taken anything that didn’t belong to her, with the helper firmly denying it.
But within seconds of unzipping her luggage, the surprises started rolling in.
The first thing the employer noticed was her white gold necklace, which she thought had gone missing earlier. It was found tucked between her helper’s clothes.
What baffled her the most is the fact that she had always been generous, giving bonuses in the form of cash and gifts, yet this still happened.
On top of that, a rolled-up wad of cash was found inside the helper’s undergarments.
When questioned, the helper claimed the money wasn’t stolen, instead, she said she “took it” from a neighbour’s laundry load because they had forgotten it in the washing machine. Some of it, she added, was apparently picked out from the trash.
Not her first time
The employer also revealed that this wasn’t the helper’s first offence.

On her very first day of work, the helper allegedly stole RM150, but due to lack of evidence and difficulty finding a replacement, the employer reluctantly decided to give her a second chance, hoping she would turn over a new leaf.
“She said she only did it because she was poor, and promised not to do it again,” the woman wrote.
Turned dramatic when caught
After being confronted with all the evidence, the helper suddenly changed her tone.
She broke down and threatened to stab herself with a makeup brush, telling the employer she wanted to end her life.
But when the employer threatened to call the police, she immediately calmed down.
The woman ended her post by saying that in the past, she might have felt sorry for someone crying and acting desperate. But now, she believes those who aren’t grateful aren’t worth feeling sorry for.
