Following their bronze medal win at the recent Paris Olympics, national shuttlers Lee Zii Jia and Soh Wooi Yik were given a hero’s welcome upon their return to Malaysia.
In true Malaysian fashion, the duo went to enjoy a dish that’s well loved by all Malaysians and undoubtedly one of the best ones out there, and it was none other than a plate of nasi lemak!

In an Instagram story shared by Zii Jia, it showed a plate of nasi lemak along with a juicy piece of fried chicken was placed in front of him at an undisclosed restaurant in Malaysia.
Sitting opposite him was Wooi Yik, who was seen scouring through the menu and wondering what to order for himself.
The photo was later reshared on X (formerly Twitter) by a netizen, who wrote in the caption: ‘First thing first bila sampai Malaysia: nasi lemak!’
‘Very relatable’
The tweet has since garnered over 460,000 views at the time of writing, with netizens resonating with Zii Jia and Wooi Yik’s act of ordering nasi lemak upon returning to Malaysia.
One commented that he could relate to the shuttlers, adding that he often thinks about the famous Village Park nasi lemak. So do we!
Another jokingly commented that Zii Jia and Wooi Yik must have been craving for nasi lemak for a long time due to the lack of protein found in the food being served at the Olympic Village.
