‘Leave & Do Not Come Back!’ — M’sian Boss Fires Employee For Taking EL To Care For Hospitalised Child

She gave them six loyal years. They could not give her one day.
A Malaysian mother was forced to make a heartbreaking decision when her child was rushed to the hospital, only for her boss to reject her emergency leave request and threaten her job.

The woman, who worked as a clerk, said her salary was modest but enough to support her family.

Her life changed overnight when her child was admitted due to a severe lung infection and needed 24 hour monitoring.

“If you leave today, do not come back”

She immediately applied for emergency leave, but her boss gave her a cold ultimatum.

The doctor said my child needed 24 hour observation. I applied for EL. My boss replied, ‘Leave? If you walk out today, do not come back.’”

She said she was stunned by the response, especially after six years of loyal service.

At the hospital, she saw her child weak and covered in tubes. That moment made her decision clear.

I told my boss I chose my child. I walked out of the office in tears. The next day I was fired. No notice. No sympathy.”

The mother said she went through almost two months of unemployment, but she has never once regretted prioritising her child.

“I slept peacefully every night because I knew I protected my dignity as a mother.” she said.

Starting over with a small business

She now earns a living through a small business. It is not glamorous, but she said it gives her peace.

I am not rich, but it is enough. I pray no other mother goes through what I went through. You can always find another job, but a child is only one.”

Today, her life looks different, quieter, and maybe a little tougher, but she says her heart is lighter.
