Aside from being places where passengers board planes and take to the skies to head to their destination, airports also house various restaurants and stores that help to quell one’s hunger and thirst before their flight.
However, the prices of goods being sold at the airport aren’t exactly wallet-friendly, as a local TV host found out much to her chagrin.
TV host slams RM7.80 mineral water sold at KLIA 2
In a Facebook post shared by Chiong Pei Pei on Monday (Feb 17), she posted a photo of a bottle of mineral water she bought at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) 2.

In the caption, she expressed her outrage over being charged a price she felt was exorbitant just for the mineral water.
KLIA 2 is a very unfriendly airport. The water dispensers are either broken or out of water. I can accept a bottle of water being sold RM4 – RM5 at convenience stores, but RM7.80 per bottle?
“Maybe I’m just being narrow-minded, but such excessive profiteering is unacceptable!” she exclaimed.
Mixed reactions
In the comment section, some voiced agreement with Chiong’s complaint and said the RM7.80 price tag was “too much”.

On the other hand, some defended the pricing, arguing that it was necessary for the airport to charge a higher price to cover the cost of rent.
