Kuala Lumpur’s usual New Year buzz is taking a chill pill this time. KLCC just announced there won’t be any fireworks or wild parties to ring in 2023 at @klcctheplace.
Why? They’re showing solidarity with folks around the world facing tough times.
Instead of the usual glitter and boom, KLCC is inviting everyone to wind down at KLCC Park. Unwind by the Lake Symphony Fountains.
It’s more about reflection and less about the spectacle this year.
When midnight rolls around, don’t expect the usual fireworks. The PETRONAS Twin Towers will light up, symbolizing hope and shared journeys into 2023.
Same with last year
This move is the same as last year’s New Year’s Eve, during which the usual fireworks and performances were also canceled in response to the natural disasters and floods that affected many.
So, if you’re up for a more laid-back New Year’s Eve, KLCC Park is where it’s at.
It’s all about coming together, taking a moment, and stepping into 2023 with a bit of peace and hope.
