A kitten was safely rescued after it was believed to have become trapped near an escalator at the MRT Sungai Besi station.
The incident reportedly happened at the transit area connecting commuters towards the LRT line to Putra Heights.
Staff stopped the escalator
According to a post shared on Threads, the person who spotted the kitten quickly alerted an officer on duty.
The officer immediately stopped the escalator and contacted MRT staff for assistance, preventing the situation from becoming more serious.
The user thanked the officer for acting quickly.
Thank you so much. I hope it has been taken out and that someone is willing to bring it to the vet,” the user wrote.
Finder had to leave for work
The user said they were unable to wait until the rescue operation was completed as they had to leave for work.
They also offered to help cover part of the kitten’s veterinary bill if anyone brought it to a clinic.

Kitten safely removed
In a follow up post, another netizen announced that they had taken responsibility for the kitten and were on the way to the vet.
Settled. We are on the way to the vet,” the netizen wrote, adding that further updates would be posted on Instagram and Threads.
The netizen said they decided to take the kitten in after learning that those at the scene were unable to bring it to a clinic.
This was despite the netizen still owing around RM3,000 in veterinary and boarding fees.
I just leave it to God and take the cat,” they wrote.
The kitten was later brought to the veterinary clinic and was expected to be discharged the following day, with someone reportedly ready to care for it.
