In a world where you can never be too sure of others’ intentions, kindness can still shine through.
Recently, a woman shared a heartwarming story of helping a foreign man who was selling pens in a shopping mall by buying him a meal.
The woman, who goes by the username @apkr_7 on TikTok, shared her experience of helping a foreign man at a local shopping mall.
According to her post, she was waiting alone at a fast food restaurant, standing by the restroom while adjusting her hair.
Through the mirror’s reflection, she noticed a man approaching.
He was selling pens and, as she describes it, “I felt panicked as he was selling pens and asking me to buy them.”
Despite the unease, she listened to the man, who showed her a wound on his left arm.
It was a moment of internal conflict—she was wary but also wanted to help.
She explained in her post, “Given the current state of the world, I was apprehensive about helping, but I told him I had no cash and wouldn’t give money, though I offered to buy him a burger instead.”
True to her word, she bought him a burger and watched as he continued to promote his pens to others while waiting for his meal.
When the burger was ready, the man ate it quickly, and she was relieved to have done something kind, even in a difficult situation.
Although she was glad to have helped, she also used her post to remind others to be cautious. “It’s a reminder for everyone—especially women—to stay safe and be aware of your surroundings at all times,” she wrote.
The post has since gone viral, amassing over 400,000 views and more than 200 comments praising her kind act.
“This is humanity.”
“This is amazing. Honestly, some people are just hungry and haven’t eaten in days. You filled his tummy.”
“Good that you have empathy. Nowadays, foreigners are stuck, and getting food is not easy. Kudos for helping!”
