A Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) leader has hinted that the party will only make the final decision on which coalition to support after the Barisan Nasional (BN) picks whether to go for Pakatan Harapan (PH) or Perikatan Nasional (PN), according to The Star.
Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, president of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP), stated that the most important thing was to see who would form the government of the day.

“If BN does not cooperate with PN, PN will be unable to form a government even with GPS’ support.” They’ve got a problem, so we’ll let them sort it out among themselves first.”
“They must come up with their own solution.” Why should we get involved? Of course, for GPS, we will discuss among ourselves and the Premier (Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg) will make the final decision,” he said to media when met at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly on Monday (Nov 21).
Tiong also stated that it was still unclear who would be prime minister or form the next government.
GPS is made up of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), the Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), and the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP).
In the general election (GE15), the Sarawak coalition won 22 seats, with the PBB winning 14, the PRS (5), the SUPP (2), and the PDP (1).
Yesterday, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) said they will be forming a coalition with Perikatan Nasional (PN), Barisan Nasional (BN) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in order to form the next government.
It came after PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin posted on Facebook that he and PAS president Hadi Awang met up with Johari to discuss about forming the Federal government.
But the table turned when BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi later said the coalition had never negotiated with GPS or PN on the matter.
This morning, PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim has confirmed that PH and BN were in negotiations to form a joint government at Seri Pacific Hotel.
