The Star reported that the Johor Fire and Rescue Department said the blaze started at around 5.16pm.

The fire was successfully extinguished around 8.30 pm.

“Initial investigation showed the fire started from spherical tanks containing cement rubber causing them to explode,” Supt Mohd Sohaimi said in a statement.

He further stated that, thankfully, no fatalities were reported.

However, two workers were reported to have burns on their hands, and one victim was said to have a broken left leg after attempting to jump from the plant to save himself upon hearing the explosions.
