SINGAPORE – Last Sunday (Feb 28), Singaporean singer Wayne Lim Junjie, better known as JJ Lin, posted a selfie of him riding a bicycle along the beach with several friends and it was shared on multiple social media platforms.
Days after the post, a few eagle-eyed netizens noticed the watch on his wrist was a RM 11-03 Ultimate Edition model that comes with a hefty price tag of nearly RM3mil. According to the Facebook page KL Sole, the watch originates from a Swiss luxury brand called Richard Mille which manufactures watches costing millions of dollars (USD).
JJ Lin’s watch is one of the brand’s most recognisable models, where there are only 200 units distributed worldwide. Despite its intricate design, the timepiece has been described as “virtually indestructible” as it uses a carbon casing to protect its inner compartments.
On the luxury watch website James Edition, the listed price of the watch is close to RM3mil, while other websites stated that the price is based “on request” only.
Coincidentally, Richard Mille was reportedly one of Rosmah’s favourite brands too. She was seen wearing the Richard Mille Lady RM 007 watch during a public event years ago.
Another Richard Mille watch, the RM27-3, was later seized by the police during a raid on the house of former Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak as reported by The Star.
According to several reports, this watch also costs around RM3mil.
