This all happened around midnight on December 10. Sue to the explosion, a window in his balcony broke, and he got a few small injuries.

The police found burn marks near his ‘kotatsu’, a type of Japanese table with a heater underneath.

They think the bug spray, which is super flammable, mixed with the heat from the kotatsu and caused the explosion.

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened in Japan.

Spray bug killers near electrical stuff

The National Consumer Affairs Centre there has heard about similar cases.

These explosions usually happen when the spray from bug killers, which has stuff like alcohol in it, gets near something electrical.

Experts say you shouldn’t spray bug killers near electrical stuff because they have things like propane and butane in them.

This can be really dangerous and even cause explosions.

A similar thing happened in New Jersey in 2016.

Three people were injured when an insecticide-filled apartment exploded, NBC New York reported.

The person had sprayed a lot to get rid of roaches, opened a window, and then the mix of the spray’s fumes and outside air caused an explosion because of the stove’s pilot light.

The blast broke windows and damaged the kitchen. Ironically, there were still cockroaches around when the firefighters showed up.
