Japanese ‘Gigolo’ Influencer Says He Wants To Live A Double Life In M’sia & Hokkaido

Oh wow...
In the world of unconventional lifestyles, gigolos are often seen as men who charm their way into financial stability through romantic relationships.

But one Japanese man has taken it to an entirely new level, turning his polygamous lifestyle into a full-fledged business and now eyeing Malaysia as his next home.

From living off women to earning RM35,000 a month

According to Malay Mail, 36-year-old Ryuta Watanabe is a Japanese man who once depended entirely on his wives for financial support, is now raking in ¥1.25 million (approx. RM35,520) a month as an online influencer.

Previously known as a himo otoko—a term for a healthy man who relies on women financially—Watanabe is now making headlines for considering a move to Malaysia.

Watanabe first caught media attention in October 2023 for his highly unconventional lifestyle in Hokkaido, Japan.

He currently lives with three wives, four children (including twins on the way), three pet dogs, and two lizards.

According to South China Morning Post (SCMP), he also has a fourth wife who lives separately, along with seven other children from past relationships.

I was born to be a gigolo,” Watanabe once declared.

At one point, he was dating 16 women at the same time and has openly expressed his ambition to father the most children in Japan.

Although polygamy is illegal in Japan, Watanabe manages his household by treating his wives as legally unregistered partners.

Turning his family life into a business

In February 2024, Watanabe pivoted from being financially dependent on his wives to becoming a full-time influencer.

He began sharing content about his polygamous family life, quickly gaining traction online.

Each of his wives manages a separate social media account, documenting their daily lives.

The strategy worked, his earnings skyrocketed, allowing him to establish his own company in May 2024.

Now, he is looking to expand his business by selling clothing and hair care products. He even recently conducted interviews for a potential fifth wife.

Watanabe, who dropped out of secondary school, has worked in over 20 part-time jobs, including as a mover, cleaner, waiter, and male host. However, none of these lasted more than a month.

He has also made some rather bizarre claims, such as engaging in intimate activities over 28 times a week and never “wasting his sperm.”

His goal? To have 54 children and surpass Japanese shogun Tokugawa Ienari, who had 53 children with 27 concubines.

Falling in love with Malaysia

Watanabe visited Malaysia in September 2023 and shared photos of himself and one of his wives at Batu Caves.

In another post, he hinted at his future plans, writing, “Considering living a double life in Malaysia and Hokkaido.”
