It’s Haram To Sleep With Teddy Bears, Says M’sian Ustaz

"Homes with these dolls will not be visited by angels."
For children and some grown adults, they have their favorite stuffed toy that they would always go to bed with as it provides them with a sense of comfort and security or simply something soft for them to cuddle.

However, a local ustaz isn’t too thrilled with the practice and is calling for parents to keep these stuffed toys away from their children.

According to Azhar, he said parents should forbid their children from sleeping with dolls or toys such as teddy bears as it’s considered ‘haram’ (forbidden).

Nowadays, many girls sleep with dolls. It’s forbidden and not allowed. These are only for children to play with.

“Why do young girls aged 18 to 20 sleep with ‘bears’ or dolls on their heads? Because they see it from celebrities. Fathers, when checking your daughters’ rooms, if you see these dolls around, it’s considered forbidden,” he said.

Elaborating further, Azhar said that homes that have these dolls will not be visited by “the angels of mercy”.

“These toys are only allowed for children who have not reached puberty. Only young children are allowed to play with them.

“On top of that, hanging toy figures insides cars, such monkey or spider figurines are not allowed. The sole place where these toys can be placed is on the seat for young children to play with so that they don’t distract us while driving,” he said.
