According to Shukri, 22 of the 26 foreigners checked were detained for various violations of the Immigration Act and Immigration Rules.

These immigrants will be investigated under Section 6 (1) (c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 which is to stay without a valid pass or permit.

Additionally, some have also breached Section 15 (1) (c) of the same Act which prohibits them from remaining longer than allowed.

The detainees consisted of 11 Indonesian men, five Indonesian women, two Indonesian boys and four Pakistani men aged. Their aged ranged between 2 to 47 years.

All detainees will undergo a Covid-19 screening test at the health clinic before being transferred to the Semenyih Immigration Depot.

Shukri concluded that the Selangor Immigration would conduct additional investigations to track down owners of rental houses as well as those who shelter illegal immigrants.
