I Wore UNIQLO’s AIRism SS26 Through A Full Week Of Malaysian Heat, Here’s My Honest Review

POV: you finally try AIRism SS26 and it actually delivers.
Let’s talk about something every Malaysian can agree on without argument, the heat is not playing fair this year.

Between back to back hot girl walks, gym sessions squeezed in before work, and that one wedding dinner where the hall’s aircond clearly gave up halfway through, staying dry and comfortable in your clothes has quietly become a whole personality trait for a lot of us.

You see it all over social media too, people talking about “breathable fabric” the same way they used to talk about skincare routines. Half serious, half meme, but also kind of not joking at all.

So when three pieces from UNIQLO’s AIRism SS26 lineup landed in my hands, I figured this was the perfect excuse to actually put them through a normal, slightly chaotic week instead of just admiring them on a hanger.

No script, no filter, just vibes and a lot of sweating for the sake of finding out.

Here is what I tested, and what I actually think.

The underwear that made me forget I was wearing underwear

I started with the basics because, let’s be real, good underwear is the unsung hero of any outfit.

You can have the most expensive top in the world, but if what’s underneath is digging into your skin every time you sit down, the whole fit is compromised.

The Seamless Shorts is exactly what it sounds like. No visible seams, so it disappears completely under leggings, bike shorts, even those clingy satin skirts that show every single line if you’re not careful.

The fabric uses that smooth AIRism feel UNIQLO is known for, paired with a soft cotton section where it matters most.

It also sits low on the hip, which honestly made it more comfortable for long days than I expected, no waistband creeping up or leaving a mark by 6pm.

Did I forget I was wearing it after the first twenty minutes? Yes. And that, to me, is the real test for any piece of underwear.

The layer that did all the work while I took the credit

Next up, the layering piece I didn’t know I needed. The Sleeveless Top looked simple on its own, almost too plain to be exciting, but that’s exactly the point.

This is the kind of top that’s meant to disappear under your actual outfit while doing all the unglamorous work behind the scenes.

It uses UNIQLO’s DRY technology, so it pulls moisture away instead of letting it sit on your skin, which matters a lot when you’re stuck on public transport with zero airflow or rushing between meetings under that unforgiving Malaysian sun.

There’s a bit of stretch built in too, so reaching for your bag or grabbing the MRT pole doesn’t feel restrictive.

The collar and shoulder areas are also unseamed, so wearing it under a sheer blouse or a thin tee doesn’t give away any obvious lines.

I wore this under a white shirt for a full work day and genuinely forgot it was there until my work ended. No weird damp feeling, no clinginess. Just quietly doing its job.

The one that finally gets it

This one surprised me the most. I went in expecting a basic camisole and came out actually impressed.

The Bra Camisole gives all around support without feeling like you’re being squeezed into submission, which is a fine line a lot of bra tops fail to walk.

There are no visible seams at the neckline or armholes, so it sits flat under fitted tops without that telltale bra strap outline.

The back has no underband, which keeps things sleek if you’re wearing something low backed or just want one less layer pressing into your skin.

Adjustable straps are a small detail, but a genuinely useful one if you’re someone who’s tired of straps that are either too tight or sliding off your shoulder every five minutes.

I tested it on a day that involved errands, a long lunch and an impromptu staircase climb because the lift was out of service (RIP).

Comfortable the entire time, and honestly more supportive than I expected from something this lightweight.

So, worth the hype?

If I’m being fully honest, I went into this expecting “okay, it’s just basics” energy.

What I didn’t expect was how much these pieces quietly elevated my day to day comfort without me having to think about them at all.

That’s kind of the whole point of a good base layer, isn’t it? You shouldn’t notice it. You should just feel normal, even when the weather outside says otherwise.

Would I repurchase any of these on my own dime? Yes, probably the shorts first, since that’s the one I reach for the most without even thinking.

Anyway, that’s my honest two cents from an actual week of wearing these around the city, the office and one slightly dramatic staircase incident.
