In the teaching profession, educating students goes far beyond delivering lessons. Teachers often face challenges such as dealing with students who are disruptive, rude, or deliberately sabotage the learning environment.
One Malaysian teacher recently opened up about such struggles in a social media post, asking fellow educators for advice.
‘How do you deal with hate towards a student?’
The post described a particular student who would constantly cause trouble in class and show blatant disrespect, disrupting not only the teacher but also other classmates who wanted to learn.
Dear teachers, how do you deal with feelings of hate and anger towards a student?

“Because of this one student, I feel completely turned off. I just want to take sick leave so I don’t have to see them,” the teacher admitted, adding that the situation had made them dislike their job.
Teachers offer tips for on educating student
The post sparked a wave of responses from other educators, who offered various suggestions — from being firm with the student to using reverse psychology by giving more attention or simply focusing on other students.

‘I just ignore them. I once had my blood pressure go up because of kids like this. Then the doctor told me, ‘They’re not your children. If you’ve scolded them once or twice and they still don’t listen, that’s it. It’s their parents who failed to teach them proper attitude. You just focus on the students who want to learn.” That totally changed my mind.’

Another urged the teacher not to throw away the job over one misbehaving student and advised the latter to focus on students who appreciated the classes.

In a follow-up post, the teacher revealed they had tried some of the tips during a Monday morning lesson and to their surprise, it worked.
