Ever wondered what it feels like to get a professional makeover and walk away with stunning, studio-quality portrait photos?
I was casually strolling through the Pavilion Bukit Jalil when I noticed this event with lots of people gathered around.
Some were getting their makeup done, others were trying on cool outfits, and everyone seemed to be having a great time posing for photos.
Curious, I approached one of the staff members to ask what all the excitement was about.
To my surprise, she explained that they were offering free makeovers and photoshoots!
Well, I couldn’t pass up an opportunity like that, so I quickly inquired about how I could join in on the fun.
The staff mentioned that while registration was preferred, walk-ins were welcome if there were any empty slots available and that’s when luck was on my side.
There happened to be an empty slot right at that moment. Wow, talk about hitting the jackpot!
Let me share with you my experience.
Before the big reveal
Before diving into the glam session, I was asked to pose for a “before” shot. It felt like a crucial part of the transformation journey, setting the stage for the big reveal.
Time to choose your style
Next up, I got to pick my style. They offered four cool options: Office Look, Ethnic Style, Vintage Inspired Style, and Light & Shadow Style.
Being a sucker for all things vintage, I went with the Vintage Inspired Style. Why not right?
Glam like rockstar
Then came styling time! Before that, I needed to fill out a form with all the details like my height, weight, clothes size, shoe size, skin allergies, makeup concerns, and special requirements.
The stylist chose outfits based on my preferences. After trying a few looks, I settled on a beautiful French vintage dress.
And here’s the fun twist, they didn’t let me look in the mirror, so the final reveal would be a delightful surprise.
The makeup artist was just amazing you know! She checked my skin condition and tailored the makeup to suit me perfectly.
It was clear she was very professional, working with great detail and care throughout the entire makeup session.
For the hair, the stylist asked which side of my face I preferred to feature and styled it accordingly.
My outfit included a hat, so they ensured everything was perfect for the look.
I have to say, these sessions involved a lot of communication, which made it a personalised and truly enjoyable experience.
It’s the time I’ve been waiting for
After changing shoes, I waited for the shooting scene to be set up.
The photographer was incredibly kind, friendly, and encouraging as she gave me clear instructions on how to pose and which angles to use to ensure I looked more beautiful in the pictures.
Not only did the photographer provide guidance, but throughout the shoot, the makeup artist also took the initiative to check my look, ensuring everything was on point.
You might have thought all the glam-up and photography were done with a professional camera, but you’d be surprised.
The entire photoshoot was actually taken using the newly launched HONOR 200 series phone, which was really impressive to see.
The reveal
Once the shoot was over, I got to look into a full-body mirror. I was absolutely blown away by the transformation though.
The European vintage style suited me surprisingly well, and I couldn’t believe how good I looked.
Choosing my best shots
The staff uploaded all the images to a laptop, and I had the opportunity to choose my two favourite photos to print.
While I was looking through all the photos, I was absolutely stunned by the incredible quality of the images taken with the HONOR 200 series phone.
It’s amazing to think a mobile device could capture such stunning portrait images.
Afterwards, they even provided a beautiful frame to showcase my two favourite pictures.
With the instant photos in hand, I couldn’t help but smile brighter.
