A husky named Kitster, who gained widespread attention after being abused by a national badminton player, is now looking for a new home.

The Selangor Veterinary Services Department (SVSD) has extended the adoption deadline to October 8, encouraging interested and qualified individuals to apply.

What happened to Kitster?

Kitster’s case came to light in July when a viral video showed the dog being repeatedly struck by its owner, professional badminton player Samuel Lee.

The footage sparked public outrage, and Lee was later fined RM25,000 by the Kajang Sessions Court in August for animal abuse.

Husky looking for forever home

The husky was rescued following the incident and has since been under the care of SVSD.

Kitster, now recovering and awaiting a forever home, will be adopted by someone who meets the necessary criteria, including no prior record of animal abuse under the Animal Welfare Act 2015.

Applications for Kitster’s adoption are open to Malaysian citizens over 21 years of age, with interviews to be held for shortlisted candidates.
