On the night of July 1st, a shocking video surfaced on Instagram, shared by user Shima Aris (@shimaaris).
The footage showed a man mercilessly hitting his dog, a Husky, on the head and face until the animal collapsed. Captured by the man’s neighbour, the video brought the dark reality of animal abuse to the forefront.

Shima, a dedicated animal lover and rescuer, didn’t hesitate to act. She quickly alerted her followers to the incident, revealing that it occurred at Landmark Residence 1 in Kajang, Selangor.

Urging everyone to report the man to the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS), Shima aimed to prevent further harm to the helpless dog.
Managed to rescue the husky the next day

In a remarkable turn of events, Shima managed to rescue the Husky the next morning on July 2nd. Naming the dog Kitster, she took it to a veterinarian for a thorough check-up.

While Kitster was physically uninjured, it was clear that the dog was deeply traumatised and fearful. Shima described Kitster as “extremely traumatised and mentally broken.”
Shima’s decision to keep Kitster with her instead of handing it over to DVS was rooted in her deep empathy for the dog.

She views Kitster as a living being in need of love and healing, not merely as evidence in a case. Shima expressed her trust in the veterinary team, who have a history of treating her rescued animals with care and compassion.
As Shima focuses on Kitster’s recovery, she has promised to update her followers on the dog’s progress.
The incident also raised concerns about another dog, a Pomeranian, seen in the video sitting on the balcony.
