If you came across a wallet which contained lots of money and several credit cards, what would you do? Look for the rightful owner or keep it for yourself?
A deliveryman was praised for his honesty after he chose to do the right thing by searching for the owner of a wallet which he found and returning it promptly.
Honest M’sian deliveryman returns wallet to owner
In a phone interview with China Press, the owner of the wallet, Lim Soon Hui (transliteration) said he lost his wallet last Friday (Dec 20) at around 10am at a pharmacy located in Puchong.

He said that after discovering the wallet was gone, he returned to the pharmacy he had visited earlier to check the CCTV footage, adding that the wallet contained his credit cards, identification card (IC), and RM800 in cash.
“The pharmacy staff told me that customers often lose their wallets but most of the time, they’re never recovered. So we searched nearby trash bins in hopes of at least finding the wallet,” he explained.
Just when Lim believed that he would never see his wallet again, he received a call from the security guard at his residential area, informing him that someone wanted to deliver something to him.
“When I rushed home, my wife said a deliveryman had found the wallet, drove to our home based on the address on my IC, and left it before departing.

“This is so rare and heartwarming. After asking my wife about the deliveryman’s identity, I drove out to find him and eventually succeeded. I thanked him and arranged to have a meal together,” he said.
‘I can earn money on my own’
When contacted by China Press, the deliveryman named Ibin said he had no thoughts of stealing when he saw the large amounts of cash inside the wallet.
Throughout my years of being a deliveryman, I’ve come across lost wallets several times but I always returned them intact to their owners. I have no need to steal as I can earn money on my own.

“I hope wallet owners can be more careful in the future because losing a wallet is not just about losing money, but also the hassle of replacing important documents,” he added.
