While most Malaysians return to their hometowns using cars, buses, or trains, some prefer a quicker route by taking a domestic flight.
However, a select few opt for an even more exclusive mode of transport—private or chartered helicopters.
Helicopter lands near bus terminal
Recently, a video of a helicopter landing near the Kota Bharu Bus Terminal in Kelantan went viral, drawing attention to the luxurious travel choices of Malaysia’s elite.
The TikTok video uploaded by @rumah_tepisungai_kb captured the moment an Aerospatiale SA 365N3 Dauphin 2 helicopter made a landing in an open area next to the terminal.

We take the bus to Kota Bharu, they take a helicopter.” The video caption wrote.
VVIP passenger escorted into a luxury car
Adding to the spectacle, the footage also showed several bodyguards escorting the helicopter passenger into a white Lexus LM, a high-end luxury vehicle.
One of the bodyguards even held an umbrella to shield the individual from the scorching sun—further fueling speculation that the person was a VVIP.

Although the identity of the passenger remains unknown, the same helicopter with the same registration number previously made headlines when it was spotted in Langkawi, Kedah.
At the time, it was reported that the helicopter’s passenger had flown in just to dine at a restaurant, as revealed by the restaurant owner.
Netizens’ reaction
The video has since sparked discussions online, with netizens both amused and intrigued by the extravagant travel choice.
“I once checked the price… half an hour costs RM2,900.”

“Sorry, everyone… my dad asked me to go back to the village to pick up my Raya clothes.“

“If we rent a helicopter to Kelantan during Raya, how much would it cost, friend?“
