Speaking to WeirdKaya, Vimal shared what inspired his dad to offer refreshments and ang pao to the Grab rider, Vimal shared:
“My dad’s kindness stems from a belief in treating others with respect and compassion. He saw an opportunity to turn a simple mistake into a positive experience, especially during Deepavali, a time of sharing and generosity.
It reflects our family values of hospitality and understanding, and not only did this Grab rider receive the ang pao and drink, but early in the morning, the garbage collector and another Grab rider also experienced this kindness.”
When asked about the Grab’s rider reaction when treated such kindness, he explained:
“The Grab rider was pleasantly surprised and appreciative of my dad’s kindness during Deepavali.
Their reaction was one of gratitude, and it created a positive and memorable interaction that highlighted the spirit of the festive season.”
