“He Might Be Going Through Something” – Passenger Sympathizes With E-hailing Driver Who Took Multiple Wrong Turns

"Sometimes, they’re carrying something heavy we cannot see."
What began as a frustrating Grab ride turned into a quiet reminder that everyone is fighting unseen battles.

On July 21, a passenger took to social media to share their experience after a E-hailing driver went off-course during a ride in the Damansara area.

Grab safety alert triggered

The app even triggered a safety alert, warning that the ride was taking a different route — a feature designed to protect passengers during unexpected detours.

According to the post, the driver, estimated to be around 55 years old, missed the correct road twice despite clear navigation from Google Maps.

The detour caused the passenger to be nearly 30 minutes late.

“Uncle, okay tak?”

But everything changed with the passenger decided to ask a simple question: “Uncle, okay tak?”

“I’m so sorry, I missed the turn. My mind was distracted.” The driver softly replied.

Moved by his tone and honesty, the passenger set their frustration aside and calmly guided the driver for the remainder of the trip. Upon arrival, they handed him some cash.

The driver was visibly emotional and close to tearing up.

“Before I left the car, I told him, ‘Listen to IKIM FM, uncle. Drive carefully, okay.’”

“Always choose kindness”

The post ended with a heartfelt reflection:
