The police have called PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang to deliver a statement concerning a police report filed against him.
Hadi’s aide said the Marang MP will appear at the Sentul police headquarters at 3 p.m. to give his statement.
The report was lodged by several parties.
Pakatan Harapan filed a report over Hadi’s comment about a football referee offering “additional time for the losing side” after the game.
His remark, a paraphrase from a column he authored for the party publication Harakah, was regarded as a reference to the formation of a federal unity government which has later sparked outrage on Twitter.
The statement, according to PH, was made in reference to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, and Hadi’s remark amounted to treason.
Previously, a report was filed against Hadi for claiming that DAP encouraged Islamophobia and blocked PAS from gaining power.
