Today was the first day of the third session of the 15th Parliament, where it was officiated by the newly-crowned Yang di-Pertua Agong (YDPA) Sultan Ibrahim.
While a majority of Members of Parliament (MPs) were present for the session, one notable figure was nowhere to be seen, where it was revealed to be PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
Where is Hadi Awang?
Hadi’s absence was noticeably palpable during the livestreaming of the Parliament session, where his seat was left empty next to former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Kubang Kerian MP Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
Satire account Harakak Daily, which often posts content poking fun at PAS politicians, shared the photo of Hadi’s empty seat with the following caption:
Marang MP has once again opted to attend Parliament while wearing his invisible cloak.
At the time of writing, Hadi has not released an official statement explaining his absence in Parliament.
‘Where can I buy the cloak?’
Naturally, this set off a series of amusing comments by netizens who poked fun at Hadi using his ‘invisible cloak’ for such an important occasion.
One joked that Hadi was a relative of professional wrestler John Cena, who’s known for his ‘You can’t see me’ gimmick.
Another cheekily asked where he could buy the ‘invisible cloak’ and whether it was available on Shopee.
Meanwhile, a frustrated netizen called upon Hadi to resign as MP as he had been absent from Parliament multiple times but still gets paid by taxpayers.
