Hiking is undoubtedly an exciting and exhilarating experience for some. But when it comes to hikes that involve rocky and difficult terrain, it’s best to wear attire that’s best suited for it.
A group of young Malaysians have recently gone viral for a clip which showed them scaling the rather dangerous terrain of Gunung Pulai in Baling, Kedah while dressed in an attire most wouldn’t expect.

In a TikTok clip uploaded by @north_ace_adventure on Apr 17, it showed several young Malaysians hiking Gunung Pulai while fully dressed in baju Melayu and baju kurung.
While some of them didn’t seem to have any problems navigating their way through the rocky terrain with their attire of choice, the same couldn’t be said for the others, including one woman who clung onto a rock for dear life.
One of them who was dressed in baju Melayu and samping even posed for a photo while standing at a tall spot of the mountain.
Even the OP couldn’t help but be nervous for the group’s safety, where he wrote in the in-text caption: “I’m just bringing them to the top. I don’t know where these guys put their hearts.”
Netizens find it dangerous
While the clip has since garnered over 280,000 views so far, netizens couldn’t help but express concern for the group, saying that what they did was dangerous and risky.
‘Last time there was a case where someone fell from Gunung Pulai.’
‘You can take a photo near the ground. Why must they do so near the sky?’
‘Every time I see something like this, I’m always reminded of the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) because they have to resolve it if anything bad happens.’
