A Grab delivery rider in Thailand is winning hearts after risking his life to save a cat trapped in a fire and then bringing it back to life with CPR.
According to reports, a fire broke out on July 21 at a second-floor condominium unit in Nonthaburi, Bangkok. Amid the chaos, one brave man wasn’t just there to watch—he ran straight in.
Rider turned volunteer firefighter
The Grab rider, who also serves as a volunteer firefighter, was at the scene when he learned that a cat was still inside the smoke-filled unit. Without hesitation, he rushed in to retrieve the unconscious animal.
Once safely outside, he immediately began performing CPR on the grey tabby, determined not to let it die.
Videos shared on social media show the rider gently pressing the cat’s chest on the pavement, trying to revive it as bystanders watched in concern.
Soon after, professional medics joined in, giving the cat oxygen while continuing CPR efforts.
Later on, the man was seen riding behind a firefighter on a motorcycle, carefully holding the cat as they rushed it to a nearby veterinary clinic.

One TikTok user, who identified himself as the rider, commented on a video of the rescue in Thai: “I’m the rider. The little one made it to the vet and is safe now.”
Owner was out of town
Text in the video revealed that the cat’s owner was not around during the fire, having traveled to another province. Thanks to the rider’s quick action, the cat was saved just in time.
