We have finally bid the tragic 2020 goodbye. However, the unemployment problem left behind 2020 is still causing a hard time in many families. Therefore, the Malaysian government has prepared some money to help families with low income, jobless people or other affected parties.
Let’s see if you are involved!
1. i-Sinar
This is not an aid, but a scheme that allows eligible members of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) to withdraw part of their retirement savings. This scheme has been expanded to help those who have had their income affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Those who are eligible can withdraw the funds starting from 11th of January 2021.
2. E-Belia
Hey there teenagers of 18-20 years old and also university students above 20! This is an e-wallet only for you! Don’t miss out!
3. Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) for households
This is a scheme under Belanjawan 2021, the national care aid is renewed and renamed to BPR. The application will start near the end of January 2021.
Families earning less than RM2500 with
One child: Get RM1200
Two children and above: Get RM1800
Families earning between RM2501 and RM4000 with
One child: Get RM800
Two children and above: Get RM1200
Families earning between RM4001 and RM5000 with
One child: Get RM500
Two children and above: Get RM750
4. BPR for the Individuals
The singles are taken care of in the new BPR. Singles above 21 years old with an income less than RM2500 can apply for the aid of RM350.
5. Program Sustainability Achieved Via Energy Efficiency (SAVE) 2.0
To promote the nation’s awareness of a greener environment and energy saving, the government has a SAVE 2.0 plan. Everyone is eligible to apply for a voucher of RM200 to get new energy-efficient home appliances.
6. Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) 2.0
Attention to those who are beneficial under BPN all these while. The BPN 2.0 will be distributed in January this year. The beneficiaries are separated into the following categories:
On top of that, the B40s will be getting Kredit Telekomunikasi of RM180 from March 2021 under the PJP program. The credits will be separated into 12 months. In other words, RM15 will be given every month. The B40s can use this credit to buy a new mobile phone or sign up mobile data plans. However, the terms and conditions are yet to be announced.
