It’s believed that Google has removed the search feature that allowed users to retrieve the current value of the Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).
Previously, the public could easily find out exchange rates by simply typing in a foreign currency, like the US Dollar (USD) to MYR, into Google’s search bar.

However, a recent check revealed that while currency conversions between other currencies, like USD to Singapore Dollar (SGD) or Euro (EUR) to USD, remain readily available, the MYR counterpart has mysteriously disappeared.

Additionally, Google has ceased to display charts that track the MYR value fluctuations over specified periods against other currencies.
Recently, there was an incident where incorrect USD-MYR exchange rates on 15 March 2024 were disseminated, prompting public corrections and apologies.
The Central Bank of Malaysia (BNM) pointed out the inaccuracies in these rates, emphasizing the gravity of the mistake.
