A football match in Negeri Sembilan ended in tragedy after a local man, who was the goalkeeper, suddenly collapsed on the field and later passed away.
Harian Metro reported that the incident took place at Residensi Prima Bandar Ekar Rantau at around 11.30am yesterday (July 26).
Had heart problems
Seremban district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Yatim Osman said police received a report about the man who collapsed while serving as the goalkeeper during a penalty shootout competition.

No elements of foul play was found in the match, which was organised by Barisan Nasional’s (BN) Rembau Youth branch.
Mohd Yatim added the victim’s wife was also present at the competition to give him support.
The body was sent to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital (HTJ) for further action. Investigations revealed the victim had a history of heart disease and was receiving treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) Serdang.
Police have urged the public not to speculate or spread misinformation regarding the incident out of respect for the family’s privacy.
