What seemed like an innocent squabble between two siblings ended in tragedy after one of them was left dead.
According to Iskandar Puteri district police chief Assistant Commissioner Rahmat Ariffin, the incident occurred at a house in Ulu Pulai, Johor at around 2.15pm yesterday, reported The Star.
Killed over a car seat
Rahmat said the tragedy was sparked by a verbal argument between the 17-year-old suspect and her 16-year-old brother.
“According to the victim’s mother, the victim had a fight with his sister over a car seat on the way home from school.
“The suspect later admitted to throwing a knife at her brother after she was mocked upon entering the house,” he said in a statement.
Succumbed to his injuries
The victim unfortunately was pronounced dead at 2.30pm and his body was sent to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital for a post-mortem.
Rahmat said the suspect was later arrested and police are seeking for a remand order from the court.
The case is now being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
