A video of the incident, which took place at KLIA Terminal 1 on Aug 18, has since circulated widely online.

‘Singapore surrender or not?’

In the 22-second clip shared by Reddit user ikkkky9029, the barefoot woman could be seen standing in the middle of the terminal and shouting loudly as other passengers watched.

Speaking in Mandarin, she could be heard asking:

“Singapore surrender or not? Japan surrender or not?”

She then turned towards the surrounding travellers and questioned why they were not recording or livestreaming her.

The woman also asked whether anyone around her was from China before declaring that if she died in Malaysia, “everyone else dies with me”.

She subsequently continued asking people around her whether they would “surrender”.

Man reportedly tried to pull her away

The Reddit user who first shared the incident said they were queueing to enter their boarding gate when the commotion unfolded.

According to the user, the woman had initially been livestreaming on TikTok before a man, believed to be someone she knew, took her phone and attempted to lead her away.

However, she reportedly continued shouting even after her phone was taken.

The user claimed the disturbance went on for about 15 minutes before airport personnel intervened and removed the woman from the area.

They added that they had already entered their gate by then and therefore could not confirm where she was taken afterwards.

Woman’s identity remains unclear

While some reports have described the woman as being believed to be a Chinese national, her identity and nationality have not been officially confirmed.

It also remains unclear what triggered the outburst or what happened to the woman after she was removed from the area.

As of the time of writing, no official statement from the authorities regarding the incident has been sighted.
