As the pandemic continues to rage on, Malaysians working from home are now opting for delivery services like foodpanda to avoid going out to buy food.
As such, we would hear numerous stories, like this Foodpanda rider who received warm messages from his customer and another who brought his son to work as he couldn’t afford a babysitter.
A recent video of a Foodpanda rider waiting for a long time outside a customer’s home during a downpour has gone viral on the Internet, with many condemning the customer’s inconsiderate behaviour.
According to Facebook user Amieny Ismail, she claimed that the rider had waited for at least five minutes before the customer appeared to collect the order.
Amieny also advised the public to be prepared to receive their orders instead of leaving riders out in the cold.
Can’t you see this? The man just wants to find ‘rezeki’ (income). Why is it so hard to understand?”
Netizens Share Their Thoughts
The video has sparked a wave of outrage among netizens, who sympathised with the rider’s plight.
A netizen, believed to be a rider too, shared that this was a common occurrence.
Another wrote that he had encountered a similar incident too.
A woman said that the video reminded her of her son who works as a Foodpanda rider.
The 22-second video has since garnered over 1.9k reactions and 300 shares at press time.
